When Ruth O. Bly was born in March 1901 in Big Spring, Texas, her father, Buford, was 34, and her mother, Lizzy, was 29. She married Freede Lee Eudy on September 20, 1933, in Jim Wells, Texas. She then married Marvin Barnhill on November 5, 1964, in Vernon, Texas. She had five brothers and one sister.

When Freede Lee Eudy was born on February 3, 1897, in Dover, Arkansas, his father, Jonas, was 38 and his mother, Ida, was 23. He married Rosa M Crow in Texas. They had two children during their marriage. He died on July 25, 1961, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 64.
