Funeral services for William Delton Mills, 91, of Loop will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Loop with Reverend Willis Blair officiating assisted by Mike Donathon. Interment will follow in the Loop Cemetery with Michael Mills, Pastor of Inland Church officiating. Delton passed away Thursday in Seminole.
Delton was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Gaines County to John and Veda Mills and has been a lifelong resident. He served in the Navy during World War II from 1944-1946. Delton married Reba Frances Freeman on Jan. 21, 1947, in Seagraves. He has farmed in Gaines County since 1944 and was co-founder of Gaines County Farm Supply. Delton has served his community on the Loop Water Board, Loop Co-op Gin Board, was past president of Gaines County Farm Bureau, and was a member of the Gideon's. He has been a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Loop where his parents were Charter members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Reba on Oct. 5, 2003; his daughter, Delaine Baucum on April 23, 2014; and two sisters, Marine Hanna and Helen Anderson. Delton is survived by two sons, Stelvin Mills and his wife, Debbie of Whitehouse and Ricky Mills and his wife, Beverly of Loop; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. A family and friend's visitation will begin at 1 p.m. in the First Baptist Church until service time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Inland Church at 3018 East 33rd Street, Spokane, WA, 99223 or Millennium at MRDS.org.
