Funeral Mass for Juana Macias, age 70 of Seminole, Texas will be celebrated Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with father Jose De Dios Gonzalez officiating.. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. Rosary will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church from 7 to 8 p.m. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Macias was born December 24, 1948 in San Carlos, Texas to Guadalupe (Munguia) and Gilbert Muniz, Sr. She married Prospero Macias, Sr. in Sudan, Texas February 8, 1969. She was a Catholic and a homemaker. Juana enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting, shopping and talking on the phone. She was a wonderful wife, mother and nana.
Juana Macias passed away at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas on Tuesday, December 10, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Prospero Macias, Sr.; two brothers, and one sister. She is survived by five sons, Adolfo Macias, Sr. of Odessa, Texas, Eloy Macias, Sr. and wife Yesenia, Prospero Macias, Jr., Marco Antonio Macias, and Richard Macias and wife Debra all of Seminole; one brother, Casimiro Muniz of Farwell, Texas; four sisters, Santo Muniz of Muleshoe, Texas, Guadalupe Soto and husband Roberto of Washington, San Juana Muniz of Dallas, Texas, and Margaret Muniz of Sudan, Texas; sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
