Funeral services for Agatha Martens, age 52 of Lamesa, Texas will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Mennonite Evangelical Church with Pastor Diedrich Harms officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.
Mrs. Martens was born April 25, 1967 in Mexico to Elizabeth (Bueckert) and Jacob Letkeman. She married Johan Martens in Mexico on July 29, 1984. Agatha was a Christian and a hard working homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, craft making, and raising chickens; she was also a very gifted harmonica player. Agatha was a very giving and warmhearted person. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and memaw.
Agatha Martens passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at her home in Lamesa, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, two brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her husband, Johan Martens of Lamesa, Texas; two daughters, Lisa Fehr and husband Jacob of Seminole, Texas, and Susi Martens of Colorado; three brothers, Abram Letkeman and wife Katharina of Mexico, Peter Letkeman and wife Maria of Seminole, Texas, and Henry Letkeman and wife Katarina of Seminole, Texas; four sisters, Nancy Klassen and husband Peter of Lamesa, Texas, Susana Friesen and husband Peter of Mexico, Lisa Hildebrandt and husband Johan of Mexico, and Lena Brown and husband Abram of Mexico; and by four grandchildren.
