Funeral services for Katharina “Tina” Froese, 70, of Seminole were conducted Friday, November 22, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Mennonite Evangelical Church with Rev. Dietrich Harms officiating and assisted by Rev. Jake Fehr. Interment followed in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. She passed away Tuesday, November 19 in Seminole.
Tina was born January 28, 1949 in Mexico to Abram and Katharina Unger Bergen. Tina and Cornelio Froese were married August 18, 1968 in Mexico. The family moved to Seminole in 1977, she was a homemaker and a member of the Mennonite Evangelical Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Abram Froese, three brothers Jacob Bergen, Abram Bergen and Henry Bergen and a granddaughter Ashley Wolf.
Tina is survived by her husband Cornelio Froese of Seminole; two sons Jacob Froese and wife Nettie of Seminole and Cornelio Froese, Jr. and wife Heather of Dodge City, Kansas; five daughters Tina Petkau of Manitoba, Canada, Elizabeth Neufeld and husband Isaac of Seminole, Helen Loewen and husband Henry of Kansas, Margaret Wolf and husband John of Seminole and Eva Steinbach and husband Chad of Seminole; one brother Bernhard Bergen of Boliva; four sisters Edith Friesen of Ontario, Canada, Helena Klassen of Manitoba, Canada, Margaret Redekop of Ontario, Canada, Mary Dyck of Seminole; two sisters-in-law Sara Bergen of Ontario, Canada and Anna Bergen of Manitoba, Canada; along with 20 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
