Miguel DeLaPaz, Sr., 81, of Andrews passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday January 28, 2012 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Mr. DeLaPaz was born July 5, 1930 in Santa Elena, Mexico. He married Felipa "Phillys" Ortega October 30, 1959 in Marathon, Texas. They moved to Andrews in 1966 from Midland. He enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family and sitting on the porch.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phillys DeLaPaz; his parents, Juan and Juana DeLaPaz, sisters Elisa Aranda, Vicenta Pineda, Delfna Vasquez, and brother Florentino Garcia. He is survived by daughters, Lourdes Bueno of Healdton, Oklahoma; Anna Figueroa of Andrews; Cruselia Davis of Holcomb, Kansas; Sons, Miguel DeLaPaz, Jr. of Andrews; Ruben DeLaPaz of Denver City, Texas; sisters Micuela Gomez of Post, Texas, Maria Lujan of Ojinaga, Mexico; grandchildren Vanessa Florey, Matthew Bueno, Dustin Figueroa, Spencer Figueroa, Phyllis Maria Figueroa, Jhaymie Mead, Dalton Davis, Elida DeLaPaz, Nelida Watson, Betty Richardson, Kathy DeLaPaz, Ruben DeLaPaz, Jr, and Alex DeLaPaz, sixteen great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
