Lou Ann was born in Tioga, Texas on February 7, 1940 to Marion Earl Delaney and Genevia Alta DeShane Scoggins. She grew up in Tioga and graduated from high school there in 1957. She married J.L. Perry on May 27, 1961 in Tioga. They lived in Andrews for 38 years before moving to Buffalo, Texas in 2001. After the passing of J.L. in 2005, Lou Ann moved to Big Spring, Texas to be with her family there. Lou Ann worked for the Andrews School system for over 20 years, she retired in 1998.She loved her grandkids and great grandkids with her whole heart. She loved seeing them in all their activities and sports over the years. She loved to sew, cook, and shop in her much younger, healthier years. She liked to read and loved her TV shows! She enjoyed attending all the softball and baseball games and was never shy to yell the loudest, and even tell the umps how blind they were, although she had been declared legally blind years ago. She loved her church Baptist Temple Church in Big Spring, and spending time with her special friend Faye Harvell. She liked Elvis, Country Music, wrestling, playing the slots, and going to Ruidoso, which shows how fun Nanny’s personality could be. She passed away suddenly but peacefully with no doubt she was going to at last be reunited with the love of her life, J.L. and her heavenly Father. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Perry, four brothers, Earl "Son", Charles, Billy Jo and Bobby Jack Scoggins and grandson, Jeffrey Ray Perry.

She is survived by three sons, James Lee (Jay) and wife Linda Perry of Andrews, Texas, Jeff and wife Melissa Perry of Millersview, Texas, Joel Perry of Madisonville, Texas; daughter; Jennifer Perry and husband Heath Gillespie of Big Spring, Texas; grandchildren, T.J. and wife Cassie Perry, Justin and wife Amber Perry, Delaney Perry, and wife Stephanie Perry, Byron and wife Meagan Perry, Hannah Darrow, Chesney Gillespie, K’Lyn Jae Gillespie, Jett Levi Gillespie; great grandchildren, Taylor, Tayton, Chrysandra, Ellie, Blakley Ann, Jayden, Gavin, Logan, Avery, Isla Perry.
