Beloved mother
EUNICE, N.M. (Special) Funeral services for Ruth Allison Shields, 89, of Eunice, N.M., will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Eunice, the Rev. Kenney Dickenson officiating.Burial follow at Denver City Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Calvary Funeral Home in Eunice. She died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, in Hobbs, N.M. She was born Aug. 16, 1910, in Cherryvale, Kans.
She married Robert Shields on Oct. 4, 1969. She was a homemaker and a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church of Hobbs.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Allison, in 1955; and her second husband, Robert Shields, in 1996.
Survivors include two sons, Tommy Allison of Udorn, Thailand, and Darrell Shields of Eunice; four daughters, Bobbie Hice of Lovington, N.M., Dorothy Howard of Lovington, Bessie Prather of Eunice and Diane Allison of Albuquerque; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Vista Family Care Hospice of Hobbs.
