Monette Angela Magee, 93, of Mart, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012, at a Waco hospital. A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Littlepage Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelli Barron-Agricola officiating. Burial will be at the Mart Cemetery.

Monette Angela was born in Cottonwood, Texas, near Mart, one of 10 children born to the late Charlie and Bessie (Sanders) Freeman. She grew up in Cottonwood and Mart where she graduated from Mart High School. On May 22, 1941, she was married to William "Bill" Magee Jr. in Waco. After living away from Mart for several years, Monette and Bill moved in 1960 near Mart where they farmed. After working as a bookkeeper for many years, she retired from Armstrong Jewelers in Waco in 1971. Monette was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Mart.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years; six brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Dale Magee and wife, Martha, of Mission, and Gary Magee and wife, Elise, of Mart; brother-in-law, Jack Magee and wife, Sunni, of Clear Lake; granddaughters, Becky Magee, of Mission, Annalise Sunday, of Robinson, and Mandy Whiteaker and husband, Greg, of Clyde; great-grandchildren, Colton, Andrew, Lance, Shaylea, and Jayclyn; and many other relatives and friends.
