Jesus P. Martinez, 47, of Andrews, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Texas. A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. at La Nueva Jerusalem in Andrews, Texas. Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at La Nueva Jerusalem in Andrews, Texas.
Jesus was born on April 12, 1963 in Guadalupe Coahuila, Mexico to Alfredo and Elvira Martinez. Jesus and his family moved to Andrews in 1980. He married Dora Carrasco on March 15, 1986 in Andrews, Texas. He drove a truck for over 30 years before having to retire due to his health. Jesus will always be remembered as a friendly, loving, positive and patient person. He never met a stranger. He was always positive and he was a strong Christian man. Jesus had a great passion for fishing and working with his fishing rods and reels. One of his favorite places to fish was Lake Nasworthy near San Angelo. He was a great BBQ cook. He was a member of La Nueva Jerusalem Church in Andrews. He also played the guitar and enjoyed singing. Most of all, he was a committed Christian. His life was all about his family and church. He was a loyal husband, devoted father and great brother.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elvira Perez Martinez; grandparents, Trinidad and Juanita Rodriquez. He is survived by his wife, Dora C. Martinez, of Andrews; son, Jesus P. Martinez, Jr., of Andrews; daughter, Sandra C. Martinez, of Andrews; his father, Alfredo Martinez, of Mexico; brothers, Alfredo Martinez, Jr. of Andrews; Juan Martinez of Andrews and David Martinez of Andrews; sisters, Patricia Martinez of San Angelo, Texas; Maria Montoya of Katy, Texas; and Amelia Rodriguez of San Angelo, Texas; and soon to be son-in-law, Justin Trevino of Andrews. www.mcnettfuneralhome.com
