*Obituary for Edward
E. W. (Dub) Nolan, age 91 passed away July 1, 2015. He is survived by his wife Louisa of 68 years, son Joel, daughter Kathie and two grandchildren Amanda and Emily. Dub was born in Texas and spent most of his early life on ranches and farms with his parents Edward and Audrey Nolan and 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

After serving with the U.S. Army in WWII in France and Germany, he returned to Texas. Other than a 5 year stay in Longview, Texas, he spent the remainder of his life in Odessa and later in Andrews where he retired to play golf. Dub started, ran, and sold several oil tool companies: Packer Sales and Rental, Nolans Packer, and Red Arrow Tools. Although he was well known for the production tools he invented, manufactured, and marketed around the world, his favorite activities were playing golf and traveling with his wife. They were fortunate to visit almost all of the states. He spent many days on golf courses and made friends everywhere they went. He was a man that was easy to get to know and loved meeting new people and seeing the USA. He will be missed. A service is being held for Dub on Tuesday, July 8th at 10:00am at the Faith Lutheran Church in Andrews, Texas. Burial will be at Andrews North Cemetery in Andrews, Texas.www.mcnettfuneralhome.com

Louisa was born on May 4, 1928 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Lewis M. Fick and Elsa Kluke Fick. She was raised in Cushing and graduated from Cushing High School in 1946. She married Edward William “E.W. Dub” Nolan, Jr. on June 3, 1947 in Cushing. They moved to Odessa in 1981 from Longview and lived in Odessa for many years. While in Odessa, they were faithful and devoted members to Redeemer Lutheran Church. They owned and operated Packer Sales and Rental, Nolan’s Packer, and Red Arrow Tools. They moved to Andrews in 1982, where they were faithful members of Faith Lutheran Church. Louisa enjoyed reading, needle point, going to Las Vegas with her husband, and traveling with her husband in their motorhome to 49 states. She loved watching and listening to football, especially the Andrews Mustangs and Texas Tech Red Raiders. She prayed that she would make it through football season this year! She had a wonderful sense of humor, and she enjoyed cooking for her family and having family gatherings. She was a homemaker and a wonderful wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 1, 2015, her parents, and 3 brothers, H.A. Fick, Edwin Fick, and Henry Fick.
