Virginia Lambert, 82, of Whitney, passed away on Friday, Aug. 25, in Whitney. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28 at Marshall & Marshall Chapel in Whitney, Texas. Interment will be Scotts Chapel Cemetery in Aquilla. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27 at the funeral home.

Virginia was born in Tolar, Hood County, Texas, to the late J.H. and Minnie Jane (Tenneson) Allen. On June 6, 1946, Virginia married Marvin S. Lambert. They lived in the Culp community all their lives. Virginia worked for Mauloff Manufacturing, Wood Manufacturing and Kai-Kai restaurant in Hillsboro, Whitney Hospital and Park Plaza Nursing Home, in Whitney. She also delivered Meals on Wheels to the elderly. She was a member of the Whitney Church of Christ. Virginia was well known for her chocolate pies.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Marvin, on Dec. 17, 1994; sons, Ernie Dan, on Aug. 4, 1995, and Warren Blake, on May 27, 2004.

Survivors include daughters, Shirley White and husband, Nolen, of Groesbeck and Vivian Pendergrass and husband, Steve, of Lake Stevens, Wash.; son, Tony Lambert and wife, Gay Lynne, of Aquilla; grandchildren, Rhonda Van Meter and husband, Vernon, Dacia Wheeler and husband, Shawn, Dean Lambert and wife, Lisa, John Lambert and Angela Lambert; great-grandchildren, Robert Van Meter, Jessica Van Meter, Michael Van Meter, Sydnei Lambert, Cole Wheeler and Lauren Wheeler; and sister, Dorothy Pena, of Lipan.
