Louie L. Bell, 83, of Odessa, formerly of Andrews, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Parks Methodist Care Center in Odessa.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2012 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jess Little of Sunset Heights Baptist Church in Odessa will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Mr. Bell was born July 5, 1928 in Plainview, Texas. He married Lavern Calder January 25, 1950 in Sherman, Texas. They moved to Andrews in 1981. Louie worked for El Paso Natural Gas for 34 years.
He loved to play golf, dominos and he enjoyed wood working. He was a true family man and he loved to take camping trips with his family. Louie loved working and thought he may never retire. While living in Andrews, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of Sunset Heights Baptist Church since moving to Odessa.
He is survived by his wife, Lavern Bell of Odessa; four sons, Steven E. Bell of Odessa; Kenneth E. Bell of Pampa, Texas; Lewis D. Bell of Pampa; Wayman D. Bell of Midland; one brother, Douglas Bell of McKinney, Texas; one sister, Alma Clark of Sherman, Texas; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. www.mcnettfuneralhome.com

Lavern Bell, 78, of Andrews, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at her son’s home in Odessa. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Sunday at McNett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Lavern was born January 15, 1934 in Greenville, Texas to Forrest and Velma Calder. She married Louie Bell January 25, 1950 in Sherman, Texas. They moved to Andrews in 1981. Mr. Bell preceded her in death in January of this year. Lavern loved her church and was a past member of the WMU of the Baptist church for many years. She sold home interiors for several years and really enjoyed that. Lavern loved to shop and travel and she was always ready to go whenever someone mentioned taking a trip. She loved to discuss the Bible and she loved to argue. She would argue until you saw things her way, then she loved to switch sides just to keep the discussion going.
She is survived by her sons, Steven E. Bell and wife Donna of Odessa; Kenneth E. Bell and wife Michele of Pampa, TX; Lewis D. Bell and wife Nancy of Pampa; Wayman D. Bell and his wife Sandy of Midland; nine grandchildren, Tonya Chavez; Jason Wheeler; Michael O’Donnell; Mathew Bell; Kristen Nolte; Melinda and Allison Bell; Amanda Salazar; Lyndsei Garcia; and fourteen great-grandchildren. www.mcnettfuneralhome.com
