Samuel Ramirez, Sr., 56, of Andrews passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at his home in Andrews. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Monday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews. Father Joey Faylona will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Sammy was born April 29, 1954 in Seminole, Texas. He married Irene Pena June 5, 1976 in Seminole. They have lived in Andrews for the past 12 years. Sammy was a member and usher at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He worked in the Oil Fields of West Texas most of his life and was currently a truck driver for Tejas Trucking in Andrews. Sammy enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and Indy car racing and really loved to watch wrestling. He was a great husband, father grandfather and friend and will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by: his wife, Irene of Andrews; his father, Juan Ramirez, Sr. of Seminole; five daughters, Rebecca Torres of Houston, Sandy Ramirez of Houston, Laura Ramirez of Andrews, and Maria Ramirez of Odessa; two sons, Samuel Ramirez, Jr. and Jacob Ramirez both of Andrews; three brothers Earnest and David Ramirez both of Temple, and Juan Ramirez, Jr. of Seminole; two sisters, Rita Ramirez of Brownfield and Ellie Ramirez of Odessa, and eight grandchildren. www.mcnettfuneralhome.com

Irene Ramirez, 59, of Andrews passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at a graveside service at 10:00 am Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in the Andrews North Cemetery with Rev. Joseph Ogbonna, Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, in Andrews officiating. Interment will follow at Andrews North Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. Irene was born on August 6, 1957 in Lovington, New Mexico to Jose Trevino Pena, Sr. and Maria Sara Valadez Pena. She was raised and attended schools in Hobbs, New Mexico. She married Samuel Ramirez, Sr. on June 5, 1976 in Seminole. They had lived in Gonzales and moved to Andrews in 1997. She had worked as a silversmith as a trade and was a homemaker to her family. She loved lottery tickets, bingo, and spending time with her family and loving on her grandchildren, which she was known as “Momo”. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 1, 2010, her parents, son, Juan Carlos Pena, daughter, Joanna Marie Ramirez, 2 sisters, Antonita Pena and Helen Quiroz, and 4 brothers, Juan Ramon Pena, Sr, David Pena, George “Blackie” Pena, and Perfecto Pena.

Irene is survived by her 4 daughters, Laura Ramirez and Johnathon Almaguer of Gonzales, Maria Castillo of Midland, Rebecca Torres of Houston, and Sandy Ramirez of Houston, 2 sons, Samuel Ramirez, Sr. and Laura Orona of Odessa and Jacob Ramirez of Andrews, 3 sisters, Mary Reinhart and husband, Dennis, of Hobbs, NM, Sylvia Cruz of Midland, and Sarah Lara and husband, Sergio, of Schulenburg, 5 brothers, Jose “Joe” Pena, Jr. and wife, Angelita, of Hobbs, NM, Francisco “Pancho” Pena of Hobbs, NM, Santos Pena and wife, Pat, of Hobbs, NM, Abraham Pena and wife, Sylvia, of Hobbs, NM, and Martin Pena and wife, Norma, of Odessa, and 12 grandchildren. www.mcnettfuneralhome.com
