Jo Netia Syler, 71, of Andrews passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM Monday, April 2, 2018 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy Thatcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. Please celebrate the life of Jo by visiting www.mcnettfuneralhome.com.

Jo was born on November 16, 1946 in Oswalt, Oklahoma to Jack and Estella Gray Hodges. She grew up in Andrews. Jo owned a dog grooming business and had worked in the cafeteria for the school system before illness forced her retirement. Jo resided in the nursing home in Andrews for more than 30 years, longer than any resident to date. She loved listening to music and breaking in new nurses over the many years she resided at Permian Residential Care Center. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roy Don Hodges, and a special friend Milo Deason.

She is survived by a son, Kelley and wife Amanda Syler of Odessa, daughter Shellie and husband Allen Beckwith of Odessa, sister Jackie and husband Tommy Thatcher of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, brother Steve Hodges of Frisco, Texas, three grandchildren, Dakota Beckwith, Leilei Beckwith and Jasmine Syler. www.mcnettfuneralhome.com
