Billie Frances Boleman Abood, 86, of Lorena, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 27, 2008, at her home. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Waco Memorial Park, with Chaplain Brian Pendleton, PhD, officiating.
Billie Frances was born in Lorena, Texas, to the late William J. Boleman and Fannie (Fetzer) Boleman. She was the youngest of five children and attended school in Lorena and Hewitt. She worked at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, where she met and married George Abood. After moving back to Waco, Billie worked at 12th Air Force Command Center, and at Central Freight Lines. She retired from Central Freight Lines in Waco in 1984. Billie's love for children led her to work at Spring Valley Elementary as a lunch monitor. She was lovingly known as "Coo Coo" to many of the children there. She was a member of Hewitt First United Methodist Church. She loved to cook and loved spending time with her family.
Billie was preceded in death by her brothers, Ted and Roy Boleman; and sisters, Ruby Byrd and Anita Phillips.
She is survived by her husband, George, of 64 years; daughter, Sherry Gamble and husband, Sherman, of Hewitt; sons, Ken Abood, of Austin, and Gary Abood and wife, Marsha, of Waco; grandchildren, Chris Gamble and wife, Shannon, of Hewitt, Nicole Gamble Tomascik and husband, Justin, of Franklin, Texas, Brianna Abood and Hanna Abood, of Waco; and great-grandchildren, Brody and Sabrina Gamble, and Makinizie and Haze Tomascik; and many other loving family members and friends.
