Mary Myra Caffey Horner died on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. Mary was born in Big Sandy, Texas on February 11, 1917. When she was four, Mary's family moved to Seagraves, Texas, where she lived until after her marriage. She married Odis Horner on December 17, 1935. Mary and Odis moved to Denver City, Texas in 1994, where they ranched and farmed until retirement. After her husband's death, Mary moved to Brownfield and then to San Angelo, to be near her children.
Mary was happy to be a member of the Church of Christ for 60 years, belonging to congregations in Denver City, Brownfield, and to the Johnson Street congregation in San Angelo.

Mary and Odis' marriage was blessed with six children. Two of their children preceded them in death, Ronnie, age 12, and Randy, stillborn, both died in 1954. Surviving children are, Maxie Lynn McCracken of San Angelo, Ellan Kirkland of San Angelo, Don Horner and wife Karen of San Angelo and Melinda Dragomir and husband Richard of Tustin, Calif. Mary is also survived by her twin sister, Mavis Slaughter of San Angelo; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Denver City Church of Christ. The family requests that memorials be made to the Christian Children's Home of Portales, N.M. Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City. Source: Ratliff Funeral Home Denver City, Texas.
