Death of Mrs. W. R. Butler; Funeral Today at 4 PM
The death of Ella, wife of Judge W. R. Butler of this city, occurred last Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock after an illness of less than a week’s time, though her health for years had been most unfavorable.
The funeral service will be conducted today at 4 PM from the family residence No. 705 E. Avenue A; (the family requests special attention to the hour stated which corrects the item in the afternoon paper for yesterday), interment to follow at the City Cemetery. Rev. B. A. Hodges of Grace Presbyterian Church will officiate. The pallbearers will be selected today.
The decedent is survived by her husband, Judge W. R. Butler, an honored citizen of this city and county and for several years the county judge, and two children, a daughter and son, who are nearing their age of majority. She is a daughter of Capt. H. C. Smith, formerly of this city, now of Fort Worth in the realty business. He is here for the obsequies. Mrs. W. B. Griffith of Quanah, a sister, is unable to be here on account of illness, and by reason of the long distance of traveling, Walter Harrison Smith of Chicago will be unable to attend the last rites. Judge Hugh Smith of this city is a brother of Mrs. Butler.
There are many friends of the decedent and her bereaved household and relatives who extend sincere condolence in this present dark hour.
