BROWNWOOD — Services for Bill Green, 72, of Brownwood will be at 2 p.m. today in the Davis Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Denver City Memorial Park Cemetery in Denver City under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood. He died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001.

He was born Oct. 16, 1929, in Terry County. He married JoAnn Gray on Feb. 5, 1949. He farmed in Higginbotham for 39 years and moved to Lake Brownwood after retiring. He was a member of the Mason Lodge No. 1278 in Denver City and was a past Master of the Lodge. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by two sons, James and Tommy.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wayne of Azle and Jay of Brownwood; a daughter, Kathy of Denver City; a sister, Barbara Gregg of Brownfield; and eight grandchildren.

Jo Ann "Granny" Green, age 86, peacefully went to her eternal home on Thursday, August 10, 2017.

Visitation for Jo Ann will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Denver City Memorial Park in Denver City with Pastor John McClean officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Jo Ann was born to Elmer and Lula (Adams) Gray on June 15, 1931 in Terry County. She married Bill Green on February 5, 1949. They farmed in Higginbotham, Texas for 34 years then retired to Lake Brownwood. All of her life she loved to fish and eat fish. Painting, quilting, crocheting, and cooking were a few of her many skills that she passed down and will be remembered by her loved ones.

Jo Ann is survived by her 2 sons, Wayne Green of Azle and Jay Green of Brownwood; 1 daughter, Kathy Smiley and husband Dennis of Denver City; 10 grandkids, Melissa, Bonnie, Clark, Ashley, Randall, Starla, TJ, Dusty, Kyle and Allen; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Gregg; and her beloved dog, Fluffy. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bill; 2 sons, Tommy and James; sister, Louise; and brother, Euell. Source: Blaylock Funeral Home.
