Graveside services for T.L. Butts, 79, of Seminole will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Lamesa Cemetery with the Rev. Lonny Poe officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.

He died Wednesday, May 16, 2001.

He was born April 13, 1922, in Crowell, and was raised in Dawson County. He married Jane Rice on Feb. 26, 1948, in Big Spring. He moved to Seminole in 1953 and was engaged in a number of businesses including West Texas Awnings and Metal and B&B Ditching Services. In 1962 he established the Frosty Way Drive In, which he owned and operated from 1962 to 1976. In the last several years he bought, sold and managed commercial and residential real estate. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Seminole.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Danny of Garland, Barry of El Campo and Larry of Duncanville; and five grandchildren. Source: Seminole Sentinel.

Jane Rice Butts of Seminole, age 90, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Feb. 14, 2019.

She was born in Midland on December 8, 1928. She and husband T.L. had been residents of Seminole since 1954, where they raised their three sons. Janie assisted T.L. with local family business ventures, including the Indian Drive-in restaurant. Over the years she lived out her Christian faith by a Godly example to her family and neighbors and by serving the community through her church, First Baptist of Seminole, the Seminole Hospital Auxiliary, and Meals on Wheels program. She was also an enthusiastic Seminole Indians sports fan.

Janie was preceded in death by husband T.L. Butts, parents B.D. and Irene Rice, and sisters Betty House and Faye Weeg.

She is survived by sister Francys Cauble of Seminole and sons Danny and wife Patricia of Garland, Barry and wife Terry of Glen Flora and Larry and wife Ginger of Little Rock, SC. Janie was a loving grandmother to Jordan Butts, Jared Butts, Jane Butts Oakes, Michael Butts and Tracy Butts Salinas, and the proud great-grandmother of seven.

Visitation for family and friends will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Mon., Feb. 18 at Ratliff Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Mon., Feb. 18 at First Baptist Church under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home, Seminole.
