VERNON — Virginia “Jean” Ruth Austin, 80, of Vernon died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Gib Baskerville officiating. Burial will follow in Chillicothe Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sullivan Funeral Home of Houston.
Ms. Austin was born Aug. 22, 1934, in Chillicothe to Ernest Alvie Kitchens and Eliza Elizabeth Millsap Kitchens. She worked for Vernon Manufacturing Co. Woods Nursing Home, Vernon State Hospital and Amarillo Kimberly Care Home Health.
Survivors include a daughter, Kelly Rich of Vernon; two sons, Kent King of Vernon and Mickey King of Amarillo; two sisters, Betty Griffin and Elizabeth Shipton, both of Houston; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, 2003 Fannin St., Vernon, TX 76384.
