John A. Burnett, 90 of Stinnett, died, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in Dumas.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Chillicothe Cemetery, Chillicothe Texas. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Burnett was born April 19, 1922 in Woodsboro, Texas to John W. and Winne Burnett. He worked for 30 years at Gatewood's Dry Cleaners and 10 years at L&M grocery as a butcher. John married Julia LaVerne Reeves, August 12, 1942 in Haskell, Texas. John was a member of First Baptist Church Chillicothe and a member of the Chillicothe Masonic Lodge. He proudly served our country in the Army, and was stationed in the Philippines during WWII.

John is survived by his wife LaVerne of Stinnett; two daughters, Jan Barnes of Stinnett, Sharon Bivins and husband Johnny of Dalhart; brother Kenneth Burnett of Vernon; sister-in-law Billie Jean McAuley of Knox City, Texas; three grandchildren, Kim Burton, Jennifer and Trent Barnes; six great-grandchildren, Blaine, Bryce, Brett, Zane, Rhett, Cainon: and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church Chillicothe, PO Box 367, Chillicothe, Texas 79225.

Julia LaVerne Burnett, 91, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2015.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, in Chillicothe Cemetery in Chillicothe with the Rev. Wallace Clay officiating. Arrangements were by Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Burnette was born Nov. 26, 1924 in Knox City to Julia Privett and Samuel Jackson Reeves. She married John A. Burnett in Haskell on Aug. 12, 1942.

Survivors include two daughters, Jan Barnes of Stinnett and Sharon Bivins of Dalhart; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Billie Jean McAuley of Knox City.
