Judith Ramsey Hughes, 73, a retired legal secretary, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at a local hospice.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in Mid-Cities Funeral Home Chapel, 5706 Airport Freeway, Haltom City. Burial: Sanger Cemetery. Visitation: 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Judy's memory to Community Hospice of Texas, 6100 Western Place, Suite 500, Fort Worth, Texas 76107
Judy was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Sanger to the late Horace Hugh and Hazel Elice McWright Ramsey. Her love of family was a driving force in her life and led her to become the family historian. She was able to take wonderful trips with her mother in earlier years to chase down bits of family history. She took pride in her work as a legal secretary before declining health forced her retirement and move into a nursing home. Judy enriched the lives of the other residents with her smile and encouraging words. She had often expressed her longing to go home to see her mother and daddy, and her family is comforted by her long-anticipated arrival home.
Survivors: Children, Marsha Grubb, Michael Downs, Robert Downs, Patrick Hughes and Phillip Hughes and their families; brother, Gerald Ramsey and family; and sister, Rebekah Nettik and family.
