MRS. LENA BOYD RITES AT HIGGINS
Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Boyd, 72, longtime Higgins resident, were held December 20, 1957 in the First Methodist Church of Higgins.
The Rev. George E. Tyson, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Higgins Cemetery under direction of the Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Boyd died at 4:30 p.m. on December 18, 1957 in the Shattuck Hospital.
Daughter of the late Paul and Josephine Hoefle; Mrs. Boyd was born in New York state. She moved to Canadian with her parents in 1887 and married Pearl O. Boyd in 1905. The couple then moved to Higgins, where they remained until 1914, when they moved to Lipscomb.
In Lipscomb, Mr. Boyd was elected county clerk. The couple returned to Higgins in 1948. Mrs. Boyd was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Magazine Club of Higgins.
Survivors include the husband; two sons, Russell of Riverside, California; two brothers, Paul Hoefle of Enid, Oklahoma, and Frank Hoefle of Kansas City; a sister, Mrs. Mike O'Neill of Amarillo; a grandson and two nieces.
