Melba McKaye
DARROUZETT - Melba McKaye, 74, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, Booker.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today September 18, 2000, in Darrouzett Cemetery with the Rev. Gary McDonald officiating. Arrangements are by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker.
Mrs. McKaye was born in La Pryor. After graduating from La Pryor High School, she attended John Sealey Nursing School in Galveston. She was a member of St. John's Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school.
She married Maxwell Stanley McKaye in 1945 at Norfolk, Va. Before moving to Darrouzett in the early 1970s, they lived in Galveston and El Paso. Her husband died in 1997.
Survivors include a son, Maxwell Stephen McKaye of Darrouzett; a daughter, Suzan Allen of Bedminster, N.J.; a brother, Jack Trees of San Antonio; two sisters, Madeline Trees of Big Spring and Maidie Westerholm of New Jersey; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
