January 3, 1931 - July 31, 2017
Mary Pearl Barr, of Arvada Colorado, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 due to gradually declining health. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 7, 2017 at the West College and 3rd Church of Christ in Lockney. Interment to follow at the Lockney Cemetery. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 9-10 a.m, Monday, August 7, 2017.
Mary was born on January 3rd, 1931 in Lockney Texas and died when she was 86 years of age. Her parents were Burt Ray Carthel and Jessie Delura Belt. She had older brothers Wayne, Jimmy and Fred and older sisters Opal and Gladys all of which preceded Mary in death. Mary graduated Lockney high school in 1948 and married Raymond Elton Barr on October 8, 1948. They had 3 children, Pamela Kay Barr, Nicky Ray Barr and Kevin Jay Barr.
Mary was preceded in death by daughter Pamela Kay on April 27, 1975. Mary and Raymond divorced on May 1994 and Raymond preceded her in death on July 4, 2004. (July 4, 2004 in Albuquerque NM) Nicky Ray Barr and his wife Jeanette Sue Barr reside in Westminster CO and have children Tammy Crystal and Chris Nicholas. Tammy and her husband Gregg DiFalco have provided Mary with her only great grandchild Grayson Difalco. Chris is engaged to Hillary. Kevin Jay Barr and his wife Cindy have children Jayson Lee and William Travis. William is married to Lindsey and Jayson is engaged to Minh. After Lockney, Mary lived in Truth or Consequences NM, Albuquerque NM and Westminster Colorado. Mary’s last 10 years were spent at the Colorado Lutheran Home nursing facility in Arvada Colorado where she built many friends and was known for her “hi honey” greeting to everyone.
