*Obituary for Ted
Ted Widener 87, of Spearman passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020. Graveside Memorial Services will be on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hansford Cemetery with Minister Trent Tanaro officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Ted was born on February 4, 1933 Custer County, OK to David Widener and Eula Lee Morton Widener. He was the baby of the family with older siblings. Ted was a member of the First Baptist Church. Ted and Wanda Stiles were married June 19, 1953. Wanda was Ted’s world.

He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He loved his family so much. Ted had worked hard his entire life. He worked for B & B Farm Industries for 39 plus years. After his retirement he and Wanda traveled to South Texas where they made their winter home for years, until Wanda’s death.

He loved to play Rook. Ted was very proud of his 1970 Chevy pickup. Ted had a beautiful yard and flowers. He enjoyed watching his great-grandkids grow and loved to have coffee and breakfast at Gordon’s Drug most mornings and visiting with his dear friends. Almost every weekend he and a group of friends would meet at one of their homes and play Joker. Ted lived an amazing life.

Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda, a son, Larry and his parents.

He is survived by a son Steve Widener; grandson, Brett Widener and wife Tanya of Spearman; granddaughter, Leslie and husband Brian McLaughlin of Spearman; great–grandchildren Brice McLaughlin, Rilee McLaughlin, Easton Widener, Rance McLaughlin and Kane Widener; daughter-in-law D' Anda Widener all of Spearman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family suggests memorial to Hansford Hospice, 707 Roland, Spearman, TX. 79081.

SPEARMAN - Wanda Lou Widener, 74, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Medley and the Rev. Nick Widener officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Mrs. Widener was born Nov. 23, 1934, in Clinton, Okla., to Fay and Lucille Stiles. She married Ted Widener on June 19, 1953, in Clinton. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Spearman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Larry Widener in 2002.

Survivors include her husband, Ted Widener; a son, Steve Widener of Amarillo; a daughter-in-law, D'Anda Widener of Spearman; a sister, Jeanine Irby of Alamogordo, N.M.; a granddaughter, Leslie McLaughlin of Spearman; a grandson, Brett Widener of Spearman; a great-grandson, Brice McLaughlin, and a great-granddaughter, Rilee McLaughlin, both of Spearman; and three nieces, Denise Baker of Roswell, N.M., and Renee Teller and Cheree Dennett, both of Alamogordo.

The family suggests memorials be to Hansford Hospice, 707 S. Roland St., Spearman, TX 79081; or Pancreatic Cancer Research, American Cancer Society, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
