Juanita Delgado of Lockney passed away, Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the San Jose Catholic Church in Lockney. Interment will follow at the Lockney Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017 at San Jose Catholic Church in Lockney. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home.
Janie was born on June 22, 1938 in Yancey, TX. She married Fortunato Delgado in Lockney, TX. He proceeded her in death in 1975. Leaving her a widow of three children, she then worked at Lockney Nursing Home as a dietitian then continued as head of housekeeping for over 20 years. In 1996, she met her current husband, Carlos Peña and they have been together ever since. In retirement Janie loved to go to garage sales every Friday morning, as well as estate sales. She loved cooking, and gardening, however, her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family.
She is proceeded in death by her mother Guadalupe Rendon Sanchez in 1998 and her father Domingo Sanchez in 2005.
Janie is survived by her Husband, Carlos Peña, and her children; Robert (Libby) Delgado Sr., Fortunato (Sharon) Delgado Jr., and Daniel (Danny) Delgado. Her four grandchildren; Michelle Araujo and Robert Delgado Jr., children of Robert and Libby Delgado; Joshua Delgado, son of Fortunato and Sharon Delgado and Diamond Delgado, daughter of Danny Delgado. Seven great grandchildren; Katalina Araujo Jerden, Ryiann, Gunnyr and Tuff Araujo, children of Michelle Araujo. Israel Robert Delgado, son of Robert Delgado Jr. Tristan, son of Diamond Delgado and Isaac Fortunato Delgado, son of Joshua Delgado. One great, great grandchild, Jett Wylie Jerden, son of Katalina and Lance Jerden. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
