Sand Grove Garden of Memories Cemetery
Milam County,
Texas

August 18, 1860, Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois - March 21, 1951, Cameron, Milam County, Texas

Friends were saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. W. R. Givens, who passed away at St. Edward Hospital the past Wednesday night. Mrs. Givens is the mother of Mrs. O. T. Bankston of this community. Mrs. Bankston spent some three months with her mother at Fort Scott, Kansas, while she was recuperating from a stroke and Mrs. Givens had returned with Mrs. Bankston. She was 90 years old and was still able to care for herself, her husband and the home. Mrs. Givens was very active for her age. Our sympathy goes out to the family. Mrs. Givens was the mother of seven daughters, two preceding her in death. Her husband, W. R. Givens of Ft. Scott, Kansas also survives. Burial was made in the Sand Grove Cemetery.
Visiting in the O. T. Bankston home the past week end were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weston of Iowa, Helen Garrison of Oklahoma City, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Garrison and son, Tommy of Milano. Mrs. Weston is a sister of Mrs. Bankston. They attended the funeral of Mrs. Givens.
