COLORADO CITY ~~ Lane Reid McGee, 66, of De Leon, Texas died Saturday, July 13, 2002 at Hendrick Memorial Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 16, 2002 in the Nowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Dunn Cemetery.
Mr. McGee was born May 17, 1936 in Colorado City to the late Poley McGee and Lily Mae Hamlin McGee. He was a rancher and was previously in oilfield construction in the Abilene area for many years. He was a member of the Colorado City Church of Christ. He married Carol Trout October 3, 1982 in Stephenville.
Survivors include his wife, Carol McGee of De Leon; two sons, Guy McGee and wife Loretta of Dublin and Chuck Timmins of Dublin; three daughters, Alane Timmins of Dublin, Terri Childress and husband Tom of St. Louis, Missouri and Angela Adornetto and husband Tom of Midland; one brother, Larry McGee and wife Tonya of Weatherford; one sister, Ialee Turner and husband Walter of Midland; and 11 grandchildren.
