Services for Vernie L. Jameson, 89, longtime resident of Plainview, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 28, 2016, in the Abernathy Church of Christ, with E. E. McDonough, officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Jameson died Friday, November 25, 2016, in Lubbock, TX.

She was born June 19, 1927, one of ten children, to Ernest "Pop" and Maggie "Mom" Goheen in Muleshoe, TX, and graduated from Anton High School. She married Odell Martin on September 10, 1946 in California and he preceded her in death in 1964. In 1969, she married Jodie Jameson in Floydada and he preceded her in death in 1991. She raised her family in the Dougherty and Floydada areas and moved to Plainview in the early 1970's, where she was a member of the 9th & Columbia Church of Christ and the Garland Street Church of Christ. She moved to Abernathy in 2011 due to health issues. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Dale Martin, June 3, 1997, a daughter, Doris Ann Martin, August 11, 2013 and 5 siblings.

Survivors; Daughter, Donna Patton of Abernathy, TX, Danny Wayne Martin and wife Doris of Wilson, TX, 5 grandchildren, Brandi Martin Romero, Brian Martin and wife Amy, Zach Patton and wife Jennifer, Zeke Patton and wife Jodi and Chad Martin. She was also survived by 12 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Clarence Goheen of Canada, Weslie Goheen of Lewisville, TX, and Tommy Goheen of Hereford, TX, and a sister, Janell Hollars of Amarillo, TX. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Abernathy EMS, 811 Ave. D, Abernathy, TX 79311 or to the Childrens Home of Lubbock, 4404 Idalou Road, Lubbock, TX 79403

Memorial services for Doris Ann Martin, 55, of Lubbock, Texas will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, August 15, 2013, in the Abernathy Church of Christ with Earl McDonough officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, Texas. Ms. Martin passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013, in Lubbock, Texas.

She was born January 15, 1958 in Dimmitt, Texas to Odell & Vernie (Goheen) Martin. She was a longtime resident of Tulia, Texas and member of the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Martin, and father. She is survived by her mother, Vernie Martin, of Abernathy, Texas, sister, Donna Patton, of Abernathy, Texas, brother, Danny Wayne Martin of Wilson, Texas, three nephews, one niece, as well as aunts and uncles. The family requests memorials be sent to Interim Hospice, 3305 101st Street #200, Lubbock, Texas 79423, or the Angel Community, 5113 34th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79410.
