MRS. MARY KNIGHT FUNERAL RITES HELD SATURDAY
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Nov. 13 for Mary Etta Knight of Lowake, Texas. Mrs. Knight was born October 3, 1866 in Marshall County, Alabama and came to Milam County in 1894 as one of the pioneers of this area.
Mrs. Knight is the widow of the late Gus T. Knight and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. E. Smith of Mendota, California, November 9, 1954, following a brief illness.
She follows in death her husband, Gus T. Knight and her three sons, Harvie G. Knight, Charles F., and J. Leonard Knight.
She is survived by her four daughter, Mrs. J. Y. Lowe of Lowake, Mrs. J. E. Smith of Mendota, California; Mrs. O. L. Peikert of Snyder, Texas, Mrs. George E. Taylor of Houston, Texas; three sisters; Mrs. Tom Couch of Arkansas; Mrs. Charlie Couch Mrs. Press Meade both of Union Grove, Alabama; one brother, W. F. Hensley of Cameron; twenty-six grand children; forty-one great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Pallbearers were her eight grand sons: Pat Knight, John Knight, H. G. Knight, Max Taylor, Lundell Peikert, Harold Peikert and Charles F. Knight.
Local funeral arrangements were made by Green's Funeral Home with services conducted by the Rev. A. F. Russell, pastor of First Baptist Church, Cameron. Final resting place is in the family plot at Corinth Cemetery.
