Naomi Burns 90 died Thursday May 21, 2009 in Rising Star. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday May 24, at First Baptist Church in Rising Star, with Terry Simmons officiating and Johnny Singleton assisting.
Burial will follow in the Elm Cemetery in Eastland County. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM today at Higginbotham Funeral Home.
She was born November 13, 1918 in Peaster to Clarence and Annis Rebecca Brock Brasher. She married Robert Burns on December 31, 1939 in Carbon, Eastland County, Texas.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Rising Star.
Survivors include her son Bobby and wife Linda Burns of Bangs; daughter Sue and husband Willie Vandivere of Rising Star; brother Curtis Brasher of Temple; two sisters Helen Jordan of Abilene and Audine Johnson of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Annis Rebecca Brock Brasher; husband Robert; sister Evelyn Brasher; brother Clifford Brasher; and a grandson.
