KELSO

Mrs. Birdie M. Kelso, 95, died January 5 in Denton. Services were held at Denton and graveside service was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron Jan. 7.
Mrs. Kelso was born in Maysfield on Nov. 2, 1877 and had lived in Maysfield all her life until the last few years when she went to Fort Worth and Denton to be with her daughters.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alford Leroy Massengale, both came to Maysfield at an early age and were married there. Mrs. Kelso was married to E. D. Kelso of Maysfield Jan. 21, 1902. They were married in the old Massengale home which is still in the Massengale family. She was a Presbyterian Church and was christened in the 100-year-old Maysfield Presbyterian Church on the day it was dedicated and was the oldest member there.
Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Kathelene Land Hoffman and Mrs. Mary K. Curry of Denton; three grandchildren, Mrs. Guy Laney of Denton, Jack Curry of Irving, and Kelso Land of Fresno, Calif.; and five great grandchildren.
