ROSBYTON — Services for Jack Mayes, 90, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Lester Griffin officiating.
Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

He died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002.

He was born Nov. 21, 1911, in Crosby County and married Naomi Lawson on Aug. 12, 1934, in Lubbock. He was a 1933 graduate of Crosbyton High School and was elected class president. He was a farmer, a hunter, a lifelong resident of Crosbyton and a member of First Baptist Church in Crosbyton.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janelle McCray of Crosbyton; a sister, Lilly Camden of Amarillo; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services for Naomi Mayes, 94, of Crosbyton will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 24, 2006 in the Crosbyton Cemetery with the Rev. Les Griffin officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Naomi passed away July 20, 2006 at Crosbyton Hospital. She was born April 20, 1912 in Crosbyton to the late Ewing and Nannie (Collier) Lawson and was the oldest of seven children. On August 12, 1934 she married Jack L. Mayes in Lubbock and they lived their entire 67 years of marriage in Crosby County. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2002.

Naomi owned and operated a beauty shop in Crosbyton for a number of years before moving to the Wake Community. While on the farm she started a ceramics shop which she operated for 22 years, until her retirement in 1979.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; Campdon and Virgil Lawson and two sisters; Lois Bishop and Clois Lawson and a son-in-law Jerry McCray. Survivors include; a daughter; Janelle McCray of Crosbyton, three grandchildren; Joy Loader and husband Charles of Smithville, TN, Jimmy McCray of Crosbyton and Jana Beauchamp and husband Kevin of McPherson, KS, four great grandchildren; Shane Loader, Brandon Loader, Jeremy Loader and Krystal McCray, a great great granddaughter; Alexia Loader, a brother Ewing Lawson, Jr. of Ft. Worth and a sister; Patsy Crow and husband Bob of Granite Shoals and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 24, 2006 from 9:00 to 10:30 at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
