STINNETT — Gaenell Brawley, 88, of Stinnett died Wednesday, June 20, 2012.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Stinnett Cemetery with Connie Freriks officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Brawley was born June 15, 1924, in Greer County, Okla., to George Franklin and Nora Mae Kerbo Brawley. He proudly served his country in World War II. He married Onna M. McElroy on July 27, 1942, in Duke, Okla.

Mr. Brawley retired from the petroleum industry after a 45-year career as a self-employed contract pumper and oil and gas owner/operator. He was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church of Amarillo at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Norris Ray Brawley; and two sisters, Joyce Brawley and Sue Hays.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years and 10 months, Onna; three daughters, Carol Brown and husband Kenneth of Friendswood, Jeannie Jones and husband Gary of Frisco and Susie Graves and husband Mark of Stinnett; a son, Danny Brawley and wife Kim of Borger; a sister,
Georgia Mae Watts and husband Lester of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to Alice Gutierrez of Amarillo for the home health care she provided.

The family will be at 5500 W. Ninth Ave., Apt 309, in Amarillo and 212 Loma Linda Lane in Borger.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675, or www.wounded- warriorproject.org.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
