*Obituary
Virene Alvis Coker, 78, of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, November 30, 1990, in a local hospital after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Coker was born January 24, 1912, at Winnsboro, Texas.
She was a retired nurse and member of First Baptist Church, Moores Lane, Rebekah Lodge, Business and Professional Women's Club, and American Association of Retired Persons.
She was the widow of Robert T. Coker.
Survivors include three sisters, Wallace Marie Hughes of Wake Village, Texas, and Maudie Alvis Fowler and Charlene Alvis Morrison, both of Texarkana: four brothers, Hubert A. Alvis of Texarkana, Jack Y. Alvis of Mesquite, Texas, Don P. Alvis of Moriarty, N.M. and Jon W. Alvis of Fort Worth, Texas: and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services were at 3 p.m. Monday at Texarkana Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sims and Dr. Lory Hildreth officiating.
Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
