Martha Jay (Sissy) Granberry, 90, of Texarkana,Texas, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019 in Corinth, Texas.
She was born on January 16, 1929 in Texarkana, Texas to Sam and Ethel (Williams) McDonald.
Sissy earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas and her Masters Degree in Library Science from East Texas State University. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Educators. Sissy was licensed to teach in both Kansas and Texas. She spent over 40 years inspiring children with her passion and talents.
Sissy was an avid bridge player and loved golf. Her hobby was decorating the many homes she lived in and she made them all warm and welcoming. Her greatest blessings were her family and many special friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Daley and husband Bill of Ft. Worth, Texas, her son, Gary Judd and wife Jean of Denton, Texas, grandchildren, Nathan Daley and wife Vanessa, Nikki Robison and husband Seth, Justin Judd and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Judd and Morriss Granberry, brother, William H. “Buddy” McDonald and granddaughter, Camille Daley Pierce.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Cornerstone Retirement Community Chapel in Texarkana, Texas at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society.
