Robert Wayne Gibson
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Central Christian Church for former Vernon resident Robert Wayne Gibson, 46, of Denton, who died Sunday, July 30, 2000, in a Dallas hospital after a lengthy illness. Interment was in Wilbarger Memorial Park under direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Gibson was born March 16, 1954, in Vernon, a son of William (Bill) Gibson and the late Sheila Mitchell Gibson. He married Romona Bullock on March 27, 1982,in Denton. A 1972 graduate of Vernon High School, he attended Texas Tech University and was a project manager in the electronics industry. He had resided in Denton since 1998. He was a member of Central Christian Church of Vernon and enjoyed reading and music.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Valerie Gibson and Michelle Gibson, both of Denton; his father, of Vernon; a brother, David Gibson
of Vernon; two sisters, Margaret Mathews and Beverly Howl, both of Fort Worth; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Twice Blessed House or the American Kidney Foundation.
Pallbearers were Steve Raines, David Gower, Dan Moore, Jimmy Upton, Gerald Riley and Ben Riley.
