STINNETT - Bessie May Griffin, 78, died Monday, April 11, 2005, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev.
Jimmy Gillmore, pastor of Riverview Baptist Church in Borger, officiating.
Burial will be in Stinnett Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Griffin was born Dec. 19, 1926, to Bessie and Anderson "Pop" Barrett in
Clayton, N.M. She moved to Stinnett in 1928 and had been an active member of
the community since that time. She began and developed her own real estate
business. She retired in 1983 after 23 years as a secretary for Natural Gas
Pipeline. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Stinnett. She loved
people, coffee, butterflies and garage sales. She was especially proud of her
family.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Barrett in May 1949; her father
in November 1974; and her mother in April 1982.

Survivors include a son, Ron Griffin and wife, Belynnda, of Turpin, Okla.; two
daughters, Tyana Griffin and Donna Irvin and husband, Rick, all of Stinnett; a
sister, Polly Larkey of Perryton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;
and a multitude of friends.

The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX
79176.
