Don Faye Blanchard Webb, 81, of Flat, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Blake Kimbrough and the Rev. Lance King officiating. Interment will follow at the Flint Creek Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Don Faye was born in Mound, Texas, to the late S.W. "Dick" and Bertha Anderson Blanchard. She went to school at Mound and Gatesville, graduating from Flat High School. She married W.A. "Bob" Webb on March 16, 1949. Don Faye worked as a correctional officer for TDCJ for 25 years, retiring in 1990 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Flat.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996; grandson, Richard Harold Evetts; and brother, Hardy Blanchard.
She is survived by daughters, Donita Evetts and husband, James, of Cleburne, and Carnetta Hughitt and husband, David, of Gatesville; sons, Robert "Bubba" Webb and wife, Medina, of Rio Vista, Walt Webb and wife, Bonnie, of Flat, and Carlos Webb and wife, LeAnne, of Flat; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Alma Ferris, of California, Alpha Lee Holcomb, of Houston, Wyona Miller, of Colorado, Sue Magee, of Gatesville, and Patsy Hare, of Gatesville; brothers, Carl Blanchard, of Temple, and Fred Blanchard, of Waco; and many other family members and friends.
