Michael Earl Shields was born in Collingsworth County, Texas, on May 23, 1947, to Patrick Earl Shields and Glennis Maxwell Shields. Michael E. Shields was raised in Stinnett, Texas, and attended Stinnett public schools.
He participated in school athletics and activities and was very popular with all he came in contact with.
He lived fully through his final illness and lost his battle in Houston, Texas, on May 18, 1967.
