Final services were held yesterday at Spearman at 2 o'clock at the Union church with Jessie F. Wiseman, minister of the Church of Christ officiating, for Rosa Ellen Cook, 57, pioneer resident of the Panhandle, who died Saturday. Mrs. Cook had been in the Panhandle for the last 20 years and she and her husband have made their home at Pringle for the last several years. The body was taken to Holt for burial.
Mrs. Cook was a member of the Christian church.
Besides her husband she is survived by eight children and 18 brothers and sisters and half-sisters and half-brothers.
Children who survive Mrs. Cook are Mrs. Emma Hennis, Burkburnett; Mrs. Thelma Denny; Stinnett; Raymond Bates, Stinnett; Mrs. Lola Sheets, Campo, Colorado; Ralph Bates, Borger; Clarence Bates, Emmett Bates and Bernice Turner of Stinnett.
Brothers, sisters, half-brothers and half-sisters who survive Mrs. Cook are Mrs. M.A. Foreman, Guymon, Oklahoma; Mrs. Paralse Campbell, Colorado, Texas; John William Archer, Raton, Texas; Mrs. Florence Sanders, Spearman; Thomas Pinkney Archer, Rising Star, Texas; W.A. Archer, Rising Star; Jim Archer, Anson; M.E. Archer, Goldthwaite, Texas; Mrs. Mary Womack, Goldthwaite; J.D. Archer, Spearman; S.B. Archer, Amarillo; C.O. Archer, Canyon; R.B. Archer, Spearman; R.G. Archer, Austin; Ben Archer, Spearman; Mrs. Namie Sheets, Spearman; Mrs. Pearl Karr, Stinnett; Branch Archer, Amarillo.
Pallbearers were Roy Hedgecoke, Borger; S.B. Lasater, Stinnett; Darsel Sheets, Spearman; Ernest Lie, Pringle; M.W. Clay, Pringle; M.E. McCormick, Stinnett.
Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Carver Funeral Chapel.
