Funeral Mass for Virginia Garza, age 77 of Seminole, Texas will be celebrated Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Jose De Dios Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. Rosary will be held Friday November 13, 2020 at St. James Catholic Church from 7 to 8 p.m. All services will be under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole. The church will allow a limited number of attendees inside for the funeral service, and it is suggested that a mask be worn and social distancing practiced, in keeping with CDC guidelines.
Mrs. Garza was born June 3, 1943 in Raymondville, Texas to Ofelia (Torres) and Ruperto Cavazos. She married Eliseo Garza, Jr. on August 26, 1963. Virginia was very proud of her appearance and known for her great smile. She loved her family dearly and her grandchildren were the stars in her crown; she also loved to cook, play bingo and go shopping. Her husband was her soulmate.
Mrs. Garza passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eliseo Garza, Jr; and one grandson, Allen Machuca. Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Eliseo Garza and wife Christina of Seminole, Texas and Orlando Garza and wife Trisha of Amarillo, Texas; One daughter, Norma Gomez and husband Samuel of Gardendale, Texas; one brother, Rupert Cavazos and wife Nelly of Seminole, Texas; two sisters, Lupita Gomez and husband Eddie of Seminole, Texas and Lucila Cavazos of Seminole, Texas; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. www.boyer funeral home.net
