AMARILLO - Graveside services for former Borger resident June Lewis, 84, of 2909 Harmony, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Holt Cemetery with the Rev. James Hart, a First Presbyterian Church pastor, officiating.

Burial will be by N.S. Griggs Funeral Directors.

Mr. Lewis died Friday in Amarillo.

A native of Hill County, Texas, he moved to the Panhandle in 1913. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Mr. Lewis had worked for Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Company in Borger for 30 years. He had also farmed in Hutchinson County and sold real estate in Borger and Amarillo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Elise Ownbey.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Lucille Gordon of Temple, and several cousins and nephews.

The family requests memorials be made to a children's home or favorite charity.

AMARILLO - Mrs. Elise Ownbey Lewis, 67, of Amarillo, whose father Joe Ownbey was an early-day sheriff in Hutchinson County, died Thursday.

Services are pending with N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Lewis was born in Hutchinson County near Adobe Walls. She had lived in Amarillo 20 years.

She was a retired real estate agent and a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Narscissa Whitman Circle of the Womens Association.

Survivors include her husband, June Lewis; two sisters, Mrs. LaVerne Early of Dallas and Lois Ownbey of Amarillo.

The family requests memorials be made to the Presbyterian Children's Home of Amarillo.
