MORSE - Walter Jack Gillispie, 82, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in Spearman.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Morse Baptist Church with the Rev. Wirt Davis, the Rev. Mike Martin and the Rev. Scott Curry officiating. Burial will be in Lieb Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon, Okla.

Mr. Gillispie, the son of Mary Ann (Denman) and Walter Allen Gillispie, was born Jan. 27, 1923, in Hooker, Okla. The Gillispie family moved to the family farm near Morse. Jack graduated from Morse High School and was united in marriage to Lela Faye Womble on Nov. 7, 1942. The family moved to Gruver in 1964. Faye passed away in 1994 and Jack moved back to Morse soon after. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gruver and Morse Lions Club. Jack was a quiet and gentle man who loved farming and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, John Gillispie and Ben Gillispie.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Davis and husband, Wirt, of Malsburg, Germany, and Judy Stedje and husband, Mike, of Gruver; two sons, Bob Gillispie and wife, Kathy, of Gruver and Dwight Gillispie and wife, Suzanne, of Morse; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Nan McCloy, Nell Henderson and Sue McCloy, all of Morse.

The family suggests memorials be to Morse Community Building, P.O. Box 114, Morse, TX 79062; or Hansford Hospice, 707 S. Roland St., Spearman, TX 79081.
