*SPEARMAN* - Alice Huffman Lackey, 99, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Christian Church with the
Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Burial will be in Lieb Cemetery by Boxwell
Brothers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lackey was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church
in Spearman. She was a member of the Dahlia Flower Club, Blue Monday
Bridge Club and Hansford Home Demonstration Club.

She loved gardening, cooking and fishing. She married John Lackey on
Aug. 21, 1927, in Medford, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985; her parents, John and
Eliza Huffman; three sisters, Grace Barber, Pearl Combs and Bessie
Mathis; a brother, Bart Ratliff; a son, Johnny Lackey Jr.; and a
granddaughter, Karen Elizabeth Woodward.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Sheets of Spearman; two
granddaughters, Sharon Lesly of Canyon Lake and Sue Felder of Amarillo;
and six great-grandchildren, Travis Durham of Dallas, Jessica, Lauren
and Austin Felder, all of Amarillo, and Glen and John Jeffrey Lesly,
both of Canyon Lake.

The family suggests memorials be to First Christian Church building
fund, 29 S. Bernice, Spearman, TX 79081; or to a favorite charity.
