Services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. for a long-time resident of Canyon, Mrs. Edna Matney Moore. She made her home at 911 5th Ave.
Mrs. Moore died in Neblett Hospital Saturday.
She came to Canyon in 1918 and was born in Cooke County June 25, 1878.
Burial was in Lieb Cemetery in Morse and the services were directed by LaGrone Funeral Home.
Rev. Newton Starnes of the Canyon First Methodist church conducted the services and he was assisted by Rev. George Stotts, Jr., a grandson of Mrs. Moore.
She was survived by five daughters, Mrs. H.E. Campfield, Canyon, Mrs. Roy Voorhees, Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Mary Wilkinson, Cottonwood, Ariz., Mrs. George Stotts, Cottonwood, Ariz., and Mrs. W.R. Greever, Spearman; three sons, Virgil Lee Matney, Amarillo, Roy M. Matney, Amarillo, and John T. Matney, Woodward, Okla.; four brothers, J.E. Miller, Morse, E.A. Miller, El Centro, Calif., George Miller and Ernest Miller, both of Oklahoma City; 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
The pallbearers, all grandsons, were Harry E. Campfield, Robert D. Greever, Roy M. Matney, Jr., Eugene S. Bonds, John Ray Plunkett, Jimmy Weatherby, Virgil Matney and Joseph Matney.
