MORSE - C. Henry Reid, 82, of Morse, died this morning in North Plains Hospital.

Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mr. Reid was born Feb. 27, 1900 in Hill County. He came to the Panhandle in September 1913 at the age of 13.

He worked as a cowboy until 1918, when he started a freight line to Texhoma, and later to Spearman.

Mr. Reid was engaged in the grocery business in 1928 and opened the first implement and hardware store in Morse in 1929. In 1956 he was a partner in a feedlot in Morse.

Mr. Reid was preceded in death by his first wife, Zadia Myrle Womble.

In August, 1971, he married Jane Davis.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles E. Reid and David Lee Reid, both of Morse; two step-sons, Richard H. Davis of Denver, Colo., and Charles Tommy Davis of Borger; one brother, B.B. Reid of Blair, Okla.; an aunt, Mrs. Daphne Womble of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 4 step-grandchildren.
