BORGER - Lucy Ann Berry, 87, died Friday, April 11, 2003.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Borger with the Rev. Larry Spannagel, pastor, and the Rev. William C. Houghton of the Woodlands officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Berry was born June 28, 1915, in McAlester, Okla. She had lived in Borger since 1928. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Altrusa Club, Borger Federated Music Club, Tax Collectors Association, both local and national, and was on the board of the Salvation Army.
She was a tax collector for 35 years. She was also a member of the Women's Division of the Borger Chamber of Commerce. She retired from the county in 1984 after 50 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents, Dr. William Claiborn and wife, Ella; and two brothers, James and Bill Graves.
Survivors include her cousin, Will Nunn and wife, Randi Graves, of Millersville, Md., and their children, Tina Graves Norwood and Erick Nunn Graves; and cousin, Janice Pierce and husband, Gailen, of Milton, Wis., and their five children, Allen, Gordon, Cynthia, Sally and Michael.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to a favorite charity, Buttercup House or St. Peter's Memorial Fund.
